We are able to remove problematic trees using a variety of methods such as sectional dismantles, rigging and felling. With some cases, site and job specific, we will even employ the use of MEWPs (mobile, elevated work platforms) or cranes. We strive to complete the task with minimal damage to the surrounding area and our arborists are fully trained and competent to carry out these works. There are various ways to prune your trees to give them the best possible care depending on there situation. At William Atherton Arboricultural Services we can carry out whole reductions, crown raises or crown thins as well as removal of select limbs and deadwooding. Whole tree reductions are carried out to reduce the overall size of the tree whilst still keeping the trees natural form. This is done by removing a set percentage or predetermined length off the end each branch, such as 20% in a 20% reduction or 1.5m in a 1.5m reduction, bringing each branch to a select prune point to allow for optimum growth of the tree in the future. Crown raises are carried out via the removal of the lowest branches to a select height to allow space underneath the canopy, with the correct cuts to Bs3998. This method of pruning is effective in allowing light transmission to areas within close proximity to the tree. Crown thinning is carried out to keep the size of the tree the same but to remove select branches from within the canopy to reduce the overall volume of the tree and as such allows light to pass through the canopy easier. Also, William Atherton Arboricultural Services can carry out the removal of select limbs which could be causing a nuisance such as damaging property or touching telephone wires. Also we offer the removal of deadwood within a canopy which could cause injury or damage if it falls of its own accord.
